Well, despite not everything being finalized with salary and job description (Marriott, much like every other company with maybe the exception of the oil companies, is on "cost containment" which apparently complicates everything), the announcement was made today that I would be taking over management responsibilities of the research team. It's pretty scary, but I think (and pray) I am up for the challenge. It's a small team of 4, but they are still different people with different personalities, experiences, ideas, etc. that I will have to learn about and work with. I am meeting with each of my new team members one-on-one Monday.
Please pray for patience, stamina, and talent as I adjust to and take on this new role.
