Functional & Fashionable

JeJe and Papa are visiting and we are having a great time! We have been cruising around Lakeland and exploring lots of parks. We love to stroll. :) However, Natalie HATES the sun shining in her face, so JeJe and Papa deemed it necessary for some shades. Hence the title - Functional & Fashionable. She doesn't seem to mind them at all. She left them on the entire walk - over an hour - never once ripping them off. I thought for sure they'd come off at some point, but they didn't! Here she is rockin' her Hello Kitty shades. Every Florida baby needs some sunglasses!

The girls in our shades.

Everyone in our front yard after a walk.

Natalie had her 4 mos checkup and shots yesterday. She weighed 14lbs 7oz and was 24 1/2 in long - the 75th percentile in both ranges. The doctor said everything looks fantastic and we can start to introduce some foods slowly if we would like. We might have to try out some rice cereal some time soon. She screamed as though she was demon possessed during her vaccinations, but I know it's all for the best. She is back to normal today and all is well.
In other news, Natalie has slept through the night the past 3 nights! What a treat. She is starting to grab things and put them to her mouth. She seems very interested in food and watches us eat intently. She hasn't rolled over yet, but the doctor said that was normal for babies who sleep on their backs and she was strong enough to do it. It will come in time. I guess we need to be giving more tummy time. Here are a few pictures on her four month birthday last week.

She also has been smiling a lot. It is so much fun and makes me so happy! I was finally able to capture a few big gummy grins. She has also started to give out fake smiles (which is completely hilarious), but these are real ones.

Here's a couple shots of Natalie with her Papa.

On St. Patrick's Day, JeJe, Natalie, and I went to Parksdale Farms - a giant produce stand - for one of their famous fresh strawberry short cakes and some produce. They had green whipped cream in honor of the day. It was a fun time! She looked very stylish in her cute green dress.

As you can see, we have been having a big fun time!

Little Bunny Foo Foo

Grana Sue sent Natalie the most adorable outfit. THANK YOU! So, of course, we had to have a photo shoot. :)Daddy was out of town all weekend at the FL/GA District Youth Gathering in Jacksonville, so we had lots of girl time. Here are my favorites.

In the afternoon, we decided to take a walk. Look at the big girl in her stroller. She brought her kitty along to play with. I can't get over how cute and BIG she is getting!

This was right before Natalie went to bed.

Finally, I am happy to report that Charles is doing much better. I don't know who was more happy to see the cone gone - us or him. :) Here's one last picture of him in all his ticked off glory.:)

Nothing much else is going on with us. Both Nick and I are going about 100 miles an hour at work. Hopefully we will get a break some day, though it probably won't be for a few more months. It is nice that both of our busiest time of the year are at the same time.
We are gearing up for JeJe and Papa's visit next week! Can't wait to see you. Hope everyone has a great rest of their week.

You just can't make up this stuff

Well, the Moss house is full of excitement yet again. One would think that the baby would create all the drama and chaos, but so far it has proved to be the cats. Bella tore her knee all up in January, and now just look at Charles:

That's right. He's sporting the cone hat. It is just so sad. He apparently got into it with another cat, bacteria built up and created an abcest that burst. Gross, I know. Now he has to wear the hat so it will heal. He can't lick it, and that's why the cone is necessary. I know you all can just imagine how much he loves it. So, now we wake up about 5 times a night between Natalie and the cat. Thank goodness for coffee! :)

In more pleasant news, Nick got this awesome grilling cookbook for Christmas, so we broke it out again this week. Nick cheffed up some delicious steaks and I made Jalepeno Poppers and Alvacado Corn Salsa. We rounded it out with some grilled red potatoes. Yum Yum!
The Jalepeno poppers are pretty easy. I just halve and clean the jalepenos, fill the halves with a mixture of cream cheese and shredded chedder, and wrap a slice of bacon around them. Then you secure with a toothpick and grill. It's not the healthiest thing in the world, but it is good, and they are a treat. Here are some pics of our feast:

Natalie continues to grow like a weed. Her latest trick is rolling on her side. Here are some pictures from the past week.

We tried out her Bumbo chair this week. She sat up like a big girl and looks SO CUTE in it.

Here she is having fun on her play mat, and sucking on her hands - her current favorite activity:

Finally, I leave you with some mommy and Natalie time.
