Fun Misc.

Natalie has been enjoying "feeding" the cats with her new play food and kitchen ware. Ha ha! Makes me laugh every time she does it. She is also been practicing her singing skills often. Here's a great rendition of the classic "ABCs".

Belated Birthday Pictures

Thanks to everyone who sent birthday well wishes and gifts. Natalie enjoyed celebrating from October 22 - November 20. :)

Thankful

I try to count my blessings every day, and love that there is a national holiday set aside for just that - celebrating the Creator and giving Him thanks for all that we have and all that we are.
Once again, Thanksgiving was spent with our good friends, Dave and Sonya Timmerman, our sweet little go-daughter Johanna, and a couple of single DCEs that we happily welcomed over. This was my first year to host in our house. I was very nervous, and anticipated a busy and stressful go. I have to say that I was pleasently surprised. I got most everything together the night (and couple days) before, so all I had to do on the day was pop everything into the oven and make the mashed potatoes. I tried a new dressing recipe that was a huge hit - corn bread with sausage and craisins. Yum! Nick and Dave were in charge of the Turkey, and they grilled it this year. It was the best Turkey I can remember having in a long time, if not ever. They brined it the day before, and then grilled/smoked it. WOW. Great job boys. You are hired next year.
On Friday, we put up our Christmas decorations including lights on the outside of our house for the first time, and a new Christmas Tree courtsey of Black Friday at Home Depot. :) I never Black Friday shop, but we needed a new tree, and I scoped out a good deal. I went around 9:15am, and was home unloading it at 10:00am. I was bracing myself for madness, but ended up flying in and out getting exactly what I came for.
Ironicly, we have been talking of getting our house painted since about August, but just never found the right people at the right price. Murphy's law was in full effect. Friday, we put up the lights, and Saturday, we had someone come by, give us a bid, we accepted, and they said they could start Monday. So, today, we spent the afternoon taking down the Christmas lights! Ha! Oh well, I am excited that by the end of the week, we should have a nicely painted new house with the minor structural repairs completed as well. Now the next two steps will be re-screening and tiling our back porch.....things we've also been trying to get done since August.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and long break from work. Just a few short weeks until Christmas vacation where we are heading to Missouri!

My favorite picture from the weekend - my sweetie, my baby, and my real good kitty. :)

Two Year Pictures

Although these came out alright, I think I am going to get David Timmerman to take her next set of pictures. He took some fantastic ones this weekend.

Halloween Fun with Our Little Minnie

Natalie Shea dressed up as Minnie Mouse this year and was absolutely adorable! We also had the treat of Nana and Pop Pop visiting. We went over to the Tucker's again this year for their annual Halloween party, and it was a blast as usual. It's always fun to get our kids together!
Nick, Gary, and a friend helped demo our horrid fountain on our back porch! The "bat cave" is no more, and we are looking forward to a rennovated and usable porch area. Hopefully all will be completed by Thanksgiving. Thanks again for everything Gary and Nadine!
