Colorado Fun

Nick and I took our very first trip alone together since our honeymoon the third week in March. It was awesome! We had a wonderful time and everything was beautiful. Even though neither of us had been skiing in over a decade, we both did great. It's like riding a bike. :) Thanks to my super awesome associate discount, Nick and I got to stay at the Ritz Carlton in Bachelor Gulch - a place where we otherwise would never be able to stay. We arrived on Monday to Denver, had lunch with one of our old college friends, and hit a micro brewery, and then we headed to Beaver Creek. We skied all day Tues, Wed, and Thursday. It was very warm on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday was great skiing, but started getting a little slushy. That made Wednesday a little icy. Thursday was the best. We woke up to a beautiful snowfall, and it snowed all day long and all night long - 8 inches in all. It was great to ski in, and that evening we ended our trip with a fantastic dinner. We took a sleigh ride half way up the mountian to Zach's Cabin. The food was excellent, and they had fuzzy Crocs for us to slip on when we arrived. It was quite the time having a sleigh ride in the falling snow! We headed back home on Friday. We stopped in Golden, CO on the way back to the airport and ate lunch, and we had one of the best sandwiches we've ever had at a little hole-in-the-wall place where we also sampled some unique ice cream, Jack Daniels Chocolate Chip. We made it back very late Friday night, and got to see our sweet little girl Saturday morning when she woke up. She had a blast playing with Nana and Pop Pop all week long. Thanks again Gary and Nadine for everything!

First morning. We asked for sweet-n-low for our coffee, and this is what they brought us!

It looks awesome. I'm so glad you were able to get away--much deserved. You are in a very small minority of people who actually look good in their ski wear. :)
Love you,
Mom
